Christmas is just around the corner and what best way to get pump up for the celebration other than by enjoying holiday songs, which is probably the thing that inspired cross over violinist/musician Lindsey Stirling for unleashing her latest album “Warmer in the Winter”. Making her first holiday album, Lindsey seems eager to provide an entertaining yet quality stuff, combining classic Christmas compositions along with some original tracks from violin maestro. Not only putting on her cross-genre touches in every songs, but Lindsey also able to integrate her own musical approach into the classic Christmas favorite songs, creating such lovely and fun combination.
Starting out “Warm in the Winter” is Lindsey's take on the classic 'Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy', which she deliver in such strong and edgy fashion with creating such distinctive classic cross-over style. Not only adding her common modern electronic approach, the renown violinist also inserted that slight rock feel, but without losing that mysterious and majestic atmosphere from the original piece. 'You're A Mean One, Mr Grinch' has that big band jazzy feel which is extremely cool, especially with the addition of Sabrina Carpenter's lovely vocals that blends really well with the music. One of her original piece on the record 'Christmas C'mon' is also a fun jam with that natural holiday feel buzzing strong wrapped in electronic pop style combined with exquisite classical touch from the musician.
Lindsey's take on 'Carol Of The Bells' also sounds fascinating with that fine combination of a Christmas classic tune with modern sound and an addition of slight rock element, giving out that neo classical atmosphere at times. Other renown holiday tracks which she also recorded for the album such as 'Jingle Bell Rock', 'Silent Night', 'Let It Snow' or 'All I Want for Christmas' and others are all being played masterfully and beautifully. While other two remaining original pieces, the album title track (Warmer in the Winter) and 'Time to Fall In Love' both are both such fun tunes to enjoy, especially during holiday season. The former track offers that catchy swing jazz feel, while the later has more of a energetic modern pop style, both accompanied with joyful lyrics and upbeat mood. In all, the violinist's first Christmas record is a very entertaining, uplifting and enjoyable musical experience which can certainly warm up your cold winter.
