Extreme Receive Grammy Consideration, Release ‘Hurricane’ Video

Boston-based rockers, Extreme continue to provide joy for their die-hard fans by releasing the music video for their latest single ‘Hurricane’ while revealing that the band’s new album “Six” is in consideration for Grammy Awards.

Extreme Heading for Grammy Nomination Again?

The funk-metal quarter could again be on the big award event after reports suggest that their latest record is currently in consideration for the 2024 Grammy. The Rockers have yet to win the prestigious award but they did receive a nomination back in 1992 for their hit track, ‘More than Words’.

Nuno Bettencourt and co were nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal but didn’t get the award as it was won by REM with their song, ‘Losing My Religion’. Although Extreme wouldn’t lose any sleep if they didn’t eventually make another stop at the Grammy, the rockers certainly would enjoy the experience, notably after their relatively successful comeback album, “Six”. The new release has captured plenty of attention, especially from rock music enthusiasts and notably die-hard fans of the band, who have been waiting patiently for the follow-up to the 2008 album, “Saudades de Rock”.

Extreme also released the music video for ‘Hurricane’

Continuing the promo for their new album, the band have also unleashed another music video, this time for the acoustic single, ‘Hurricane’. The new MV is Extreme’s sixth in support of their latest record following ‘Rise’, ‘Banshee’, ‘Rebel’, ‘Other Side of the Rainbow’, and ‘The Mask’. The first three clips were certainly successful as all generated over 1 million views on YouTube.

‘Hurricane’ is certainly another exciting piece of music from the Boston-based rock act that adds plenty of color to their new record. After several heavy-hitting pieces, Extreme returns with a heart-thumping ballad that talks about an attempt to heal wounds from many painful losses that many often endure in certain moments of our lives.

Just as most of the band’s previous clips, the MV for ‘Hurricane’ focuses mostly on Gary Cherone, Nuno, Pat Badger, and Kevin Figueiredo. They were seen in a desert-like area, contemplating life while singing and playing their instruments. There’s also an appearance from a young little girl who was just playing around with Nuno in the video.

Overall, ‘Hurricane’ is a lovely piece of music that focuses on depicting the fragileness of the human heart, especially when we are forced to part ways with those we cherish. Although the band didn’t set a certain storyline like their ‘Over the Rainbow’ clip, they still somewhat managed to convey their message in the video for ‘Hurricane’.

Extreme are currently completing its tour with the nearest date on October 24 at the Cool Insuring Arena, Glenn Falls, NY. For now, the rock act will continue to be on the road up until early March, next year.
