Aleksiah Talks About Her Young Life Experience in New Single ’24’
In a somewhat similar theme as her previous tracks, @aleksiah_ brings out another personal chapter of her life for the new track. According to the pop/indie singer, ’24’ is her take on how we can handle many challenges and difficulties in battling expectations in life, especially as a youngster.
Aleksiah revealed that the song was first written when she was 22 years old during a difficult time in which her feelings were filled with jealousy and self-loathing. However, despite trying to just shout out her anger and disappointment, the Adelaide native opted to take a different route by composing a playful dig at herself instead while hoping that it could also bring hope to people.
“24 was written at a time where I felt a lot of jealousy and self-loathing. I had just turned 22 and
felt miles behind all of my peers,” Aleksiah revealed. “I was yet to share any of my music in fear of rejection, but instead of trying to improve my life and gain confidence, I wrote a song that called myself out on my cynical outlook.”
Aleksiah Gets More Upbeat in ’24’
In terms of theme, the Australian singer-songwriter is still keen on taking personal experience as her main inspiration just like for her previous releases. However, there’s a different approach that Aleksiah takes in ’24’ in comparison to her previous songs.
For the new single, the singer decided to craft a more uptempo beat and poppy vibe that somehow brings out that 80s feel into play. Although the lyric is more of a dig of her younger self, it still offers positive and relatable messages to the current generation on how they can handle different challenges in life.
