Richie Kotzen brings double joy for his fans following the release of the virtuoso’s new album “Nomad” and the lyric video for his fourth single ‘Nihilist’ both on Friday, September 27. The vocalist/singer has been preparing for the new album since early this year and has already premiered three songs for promotion before unleashing the fourth one.
Richie Kotzen Releasing New Album and Single On the Same Day
The Winery Dogs’ frontman has been working hard to prepare another special treat for his fans, which is his new record “Nomad”. Kotzen already started the new album’s official promotion on May 1st with the release of his first single ‘Cheap Shots and its lyric video.
After releasing two more singles, Kotzen finally released “Nomad” along with the fourth single ‘Nihilist’ and its accompanying music video. In addition to the four singles, the Winery Dogs’ singer and guitarist wrote four other tracks, bringing the total number of songs on the record to eight.
Other remaining songs from the new record are, ‘These Doors’, ‘Escape’, ‘This Is a Test’, and the album title track. Kotzen could potentially release videos for all the remaining songs, at least lyric videos for them although the record is now available on all streaming platforms.

‘Nihilist’ Unleashed as Fourth Single from “Nomad”
Talking more about the guitarist’s new single ‘Nihilist’, it’s another exciting piece of music from him with a slightly different touch compared to other previously released tracks. Kotzen seemingly added more progressive runs combined with some fusion jazz feel to create such a lovely musical piece.
It’s just simply a technically well-arranged piece of music that can still attract plenty of modern music lovers, especially since it has a pretty catchy hook. Guitar heads will also be pleased to check out how extravagant Kotzen’s solo piece on that track is, especially in the final part where he just puts out an expressively fluid playing.

Reviewing Richie Kotzen’s New Album “Nomad”
As we already give you guys our review on ‘Insomnia’ and ‘Nihilist’, Rock-Expert decided to also share our opinion for the whole album. ‘Cheap Shots’ offers an energetic rock vibe with that classic bluesy feel that RK usually presents in most of his songs. ‘These Doors’ is another exciting yet familiar track from Kotzen with that fun hard-rock vibe that also added a catchy hook part and super cool guitar riffs.
The album’s title track has a slightly dark vibe but still keeps that hard rock element in tack and interesting chorus part. ‘Escape’ offers another blues-rock feel with a moderate tempo to start but it picks up a bit on the chorus part and Kotzen as always continues to provide some excellent guitar parts.
‘On the Table’ which was the second single released from the album is an upbeat track with that bright vibe that highlights the guitarist’s excellent playing once again. ‘This Is A Test’ provides music lovers with a lovely acoustic ballad that highlights Kotzen’s wonderful vocals even more along with his melodic mastery. Overall, it might not be some groundbreaking album that shifts the music realm, but it’s certainly a worthy album to enjoy not only for singer/guitarist’s fans but for those who enjoy good music.
