As it was revealed by Dewa 19 official social media page, Kotzen is actually a late addition as the initial guest star for the band’s special shows were Sherinian, Scott Soto, Phil X, and Jelusick. However, the Indonesian legendary rockers managed to snatch a deal that will see Richie playing in the Jakarta show only.

Dewa are currently scheduled to play three special all-star shows in three major cities in Indonesia, which are Solo, Jakarta, and Bandung. The likes of Sherinian, Jeff Scott Soto, Phil X, and Jelusic should play in all of those cities but not Kotzen. The guitar maestro apparently is only scheduled to play in one show at the capital city and won’t be appearing in other shows.

Kotzen’s performance with Dewa 19 All-Stars in Jakarta is set to happen on August 12 this year at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadion. Tickets are already on sale with @otelloasia acting as event planners for the special concerts. For now, we are still uncertain whether Richie will be performing some of his own songs or just collaborating and playing with Dewa and the other performers.

Nevertheless, Kotzen’s upcoming appearance is already attracting attention from local music enthusiasts in Indonesia. The guitarist/vocalist is also on tour with his band the Winery Dogs but they won’t be re-starting their road trip until next October. Although confirmation of RK’s appearance from Dewa have arrived since earlier this month, the maestro hasn’t released anything just yet on his social media pages.

Richie Kotzen Shares Interesting Facts on Mother Heads Family Reunion

Aside from news about his upcoming special show with Dewa 19, Kotzen on his social media also shared an interesting past story. The guitar maestro revealed that one of his well-received records, ‘Mother Heads Family Reunion” apparently was not always well received at the time of that album’s release, sometime in 1994.

Proving his story, Kotzen shared a video of his band’s tour in Detroit during that year as an opening act for the gothic metal act, Type O Negative. During that performance, the Winery Dogs’ guitarist/vocalist reveals that his performance with his band didn’t get a positive well come at all. It was certainly an interesting story, that regardless of their musical prowess, Kotzen and his band, consisting of Atma Anur (drums) and John Moore (bass) can still receive negative reception from music fans

Nevertheless, Kotzen continues to grow and become a noteworthy musician even in this current modern era, where there’s been plenty of changes in the industry.
