Blues-Rock/Fusion guitarist, Kenny Wayne Shepherd returns to excite his fans with the release of a new album “Dirt On My Diamonds Vo. 2”. The new record has been available for purchase since September 20 via Mascot/Provogue Records and is somewhat a continuation of last year’s release “Dirt On My Diamonds Vol. 1”.

The American guitarist is not taking any time to excite his die-hard fans as soon after releasing “Dirt On My Diamonds Vol. 1”, KWS didn’t have much break before unleashing the second volume this September. Kenny previously revealed that the writing process for DOMD Vol. 1 already started since the first volume as it’s always been set to be a double album.
“Because of the way that people live and consume music now, we decided to stagger the releases – but it’s essentially a double album. We had creative momentum on our side, so we just wanted to keep it rolling,” Kenny said. The guitarist also added that although, “You’ll hear the same spirit across both albums, but the songs, sounds and grooves are very different.”

KWS’s New Album Consists of Eight Exciting Blues-Rock Tracks
Similar to Volume 1, Kenny’s “Dirt On My Diamonds Vol.2” also consist of eight blues-rock tracks that should entertain music lovers, especially blues-rock enthusiasts. The guitarist is determined to showcase his quality songwriting along with exquisite guitar playing in the album.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s latest album, DOMD Vol. 2, commences with a spirited blues-rock composition titled ‘I Got A Woman’. This track combines electrifying melodies with captivating riffs, while the vocals seamlessly harmonize with the musical arrangement. The result is a remarkable tune that can be appreciated by both aficionados and non-enthusiasts of the blues-rock genre. Notably, ‘I Got A Woman’ was chosen by Kenny as the leading single from his new album.
A more funky beat can be heard from ‘The Middle’ which offers that exciting brass section that complements KWS’ fine bluesy music. It’s another excellent and enjoyable track that showcases Kenny’s excellent musicality and guitar playing.
‘My Guitar Is Crying’ brings out the Axeman’s ballad feel as it brings out beautiful melodies that were arranged in such an excellent manner. ‘Long Way Down’ which is also the album’s official second single, brings up the tempo again and gives out another entertaining blues-rock track from start to finish.
‘Never Made It to Memphis’ is the third single from Kenny’s new album and it’s certainly a suitable pick with the catchy chorus part, exciting beat, and fine musical arrangement overall. ‘Watch You Go’ brings up a more bluesy approach with the combination of fine brass sections that makes it sound really rich.
‘Pressure’ offers another funky blues-rock display, creating that cool and exciting fusion vibe all around from the get-go. The last track that music fans can enjoy from DOMD Vol. 2 is KWS’s cover of ZZ Top’s “She Loves My Automobile”, which gives out the guitarist’s personal touch of the classic track.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd Also Involved in the Experience Hendrix 2024 Tour
Aside from promoting his new album, KWS is also involved in the Experience Hendrix 2024 Tour with other top guitarists such as Eric Johnson, Zakk Wylde, Dweezil Zappa, and many more. The shows are organized to celebrate Jimmy Hendrix’s music throughout the years and introduce it to the younger generation as well.
Kenny’s performance at the Experience Hendrix is scheduled to start from September 20 until October 19 2024. From that special event, KWS already set up some solo shows in early February 2025 all in the United States.
