Guitar Heroes Involved In Jason Becker and Friends’ New Single
Following the release of his latest record, “Triumphant Hearts” in December 2018, legendary guitarist Jason Becker excites music lovers notably guitar enthusiasts with a new single entitled ‘Some Assembly Required’. The new track is a collaborative effort between several guitar heroes, who is also good friends of Jason, from PG, Vai, Friedman, Joe Bonamassa, Chris Broderick, Richie Kotzen, Gus G, Zakk Wylde, Alex Skolnick, Herman Li, Steve Lukather, Nita Strauss and many more.
Among those top guitar players, it was Nita who got the time to assemble everyone and get them to participate in it. The Alice Cooper guitarist and her fiance, Josh Villalta, who also played drum in the song, set up the track using Jason’s old demo that was not used during his time at David Lee Roth’s band.
Nita eventually used the demo tape as a base with the addition of several solo parts from other guitar virtuosos who participated in the song. Moreover, the female guitar hero also decided to keep Jason’s original solo part in the initial demo, giving tons of joy to fans who can enjoy the ex-Cacophony axeman’s fine playing.
‘Some Assembly Required’ Is Released to Support Jason Becker
As mentioned above, the old but new song is being unleashed with the mission to continue supporting Jason’s battle against ALS. The guitar legend has been diagnosed with that neurodegenerative disease since 1989 but it wasn’t until 1996 that the guitar maestro eventually lost the ability to speak.
However, despite all of his struggles, Jason can continue making music even by only using his eyesight with the help of his father. The maestro would normally compose his music with his eyesight and the help of a computer program before eventually having other musicians or guitarists record his stuff if necessary.
Regarding ‘Some Assembly Required’, it was naturally a project that Nina and Josh set up for the guitarist’s new album but she changed her mind. She believes the project can become even bigger by involving other top players, who are also good friends with Becker.
After all the required work, especially in assembling all the guitar heroes, the song turned out to be a special Christmas gift for Becker and his family. The legendary virtuoso was very grateful for the hard work and effort that his friends put out for the song that people might not be able to hear if not for this latest project.
Overall, ‘Some Assembly Required’ is a fun guitar instrumental track with the addition of multiple of your favorite players ripping their fine personal solos. All the musicians involved in the song, certainly give their best possible effort that create an assembly of fine guitar performances.
