Experiencing Dokken’s 13th Album “Heaven Comes Down”

Legendary hard rock band Dokken have just released their long-anticipated studio album entitled “Heaven Comes Down” which had its official release on October 27, 2023. The new album was a follow-up to Broken Bones, which hit the market back in 2012. The rockers did release another record in 2018, Return to the East: Live 2016 but it was a live recording from their reunion shows in South Dakota and Japan.

Dokken Release “Heaven Comes Down” as 13th Studio Album

“Heaven Comes Down” is also the rockers’ 13th studio record since debuting into the musical realm with “Breaking the Chains” in 1981. Knowing it’s been quite a while since they entertained their fans with a full-length record, Don Dokken and Co are not goofing around as they put out 10 exciting and rocking tracks for fans to enjoy.

The band started their “Heaven Comes Down” with ‘Fugitive’ as the first single and it immediately heats things with such heavy riffs and sound. Dokken’s fans will immediately feel that rockin’ vibe as the first single offers that straightaway. The song gives out that mysterious atmosphere that blends in well with the up-tempo beat, creating an intriguing piece of music.

Fugitive Set as the First Single from Dokken’s “Heaven Comes Down”

The rockers have also premiered the music video for ‘Fugitive’ providing further support for the single whilst adding more details about that track. According to Don himself, his band’s first single is quite deep as it talks about the uncertainties that are happening in the world today.

“The inspiration for the lyrics came from what seems to me to be an uncertain world these days. I don’t know what the future holds for our world, so I decided to take a step back and watch it all unfold,” the singer explained.

‘Fugitive’ is not the only up-tempo rockin’ track that music fans can enjoy from Dokken’s “Heaven Comes Down” record as they can immediately feel that kind of vibe from the album’s second track, ‘Gypsy’. A slightly moderate tempo beat but still with the heavy-hitting rock sound can be heard from songs such as ‘Over the Mountain’, ‘Just Like a Rose’, and the epic ‘Saving Grace’ which should bring rock fans into a headbanging mode.

For those who enjoy some ballad stuff, Dokken didn’t desert you all, as they also came up with some quality pieces such as, ‘I’ll Never Give You Up’, ‘I Remember’, and the fun acoustic ‘Santa Fe’ which seemingly talk about Don’s life biography so far. The renowned singer is very keen on promoting his band’s new record stating his satisfaction over the work on “Heaven Comes Down”.

Overall, Dokken’s 13th studio album is an exciting rock discography that will offer tons of entertainment not just for the band’s die-hard fans but also for rock enthusiasts in general. Don’s combination with guitarist Jon Levin, Chris McCarvill on bass, and drummer BJ Zampa creates another masterful music that deserves plenty of appreciation.

Don Dokken Wants Focus on New Album Instead of Past Stories

Don also showcased his focus on the new album’s release refusing to discuss the past negative stories about Dokken. “I’m so tired of hearing about the fighting and the ‘this’ and ‘that’… this is about a new record. A new record with my new band. It’s been a long process, but at the end of the day, I think we have lightning in a bottle,” he stated.
