Guitar virtuoso, Paul Gilbert keeps on showcasing his excellent playing as he was seen shredding even without his usual Ibanez PGM signature series. Gilbert was instead shredding out on a classic ’85 Ibanez RS440, showing some nice runs and his usual speed playing via social media.

Paul Gilbert Rockin’ It Out on a Classic Ibanez Guitar
After completing the recording process for Mr. Big’s upcoming album, Paul Gilbert is back to his regular days of entertaining guitar heads with his short content on social media. The guitar virtuoso has always been known to provide plenty of fun guitar-playing clips, mostly using his beloved Ibanez guitars, notably the maestro’s signature series, PGM.
However, that was not the case in his latest Instagram video as the guitarist was seen shredding with an ’85 Ibanez RS440 which has been modified, especially on the pickups. Paul revealed that the classic guitar had a DiMarzio Air Classic along with two DiMarzio injectors. Loving the modification he’s getting, Mr. Big’s axeman decided to make another small addition by installing a DiMarzio volume pot that helps his playing even more.
Paul explains that adding that volume pot is easy to turn and it’s also being positioned in the best area so it didn’t disturb him when using the whammy bar. Interestingly, PG bought the guitar from someone in Rhode Island as it was discovered on the Insta comment convo. The guitarist admitted that he got the classic Ibanez from someone in Rhone Island who bought it from a guy(Christopherlischio) who commented on the social media posting.
Check out more exciting stuff from Paul Gilbert on his official website and social media accounts. Rock-Expert will also add any interesting information that we can get, especially regarding PG’s upcoming album with Mr. Big.
