‘Rest In Pieces’ Talks About Revenge
Talking more about The Rasmus’ new song, it’s certainly a pretty hard-hitting melodic rock that seems to express lots of feelings. ‘Rest In Pieces’ immediately starts with a heavy riff and strong melodic vocal which calms down for a bit during the verse before getting it up again for the chorus part.
According to the band’s singer/songwriter, Lauri Ylönen, ‘Rest In Pieces’ tells about his disappointment towards a friend who has ‘betrayed’ him. Ylonen expressed his feelings of disappointment and turned it into a sort of revenge song that brings out that frustration into such an excellent melodic rock piece.
“This all started very organically, the story behind the music is that I was betrayed by a friend. I was sad and pissed off at the same time. I wanted to channel my frustration into the music and create what I call a ‘f*ck you song’ for revenge,” Ylonen explained.
In all, ‘Rest In Pieces’ is an exciting song that can attract strong affection from rock lovers or even those who are not a big fan of that genre. The melodic vibe and intense emotion bring out that enticing combination from start to finish, creating a dark yet irresistible track, especially for The Rasmus’ die-hard listeners.
